trying to mow very very rough improved pasture, broke off pto adapters several times before switching to one-way pto adapter. but shearpin on gearbox didnt shear off...torqued tractor to standstill many times.

now flail arm hits sheet metal on one side and bottom plate looks like having some horizontal play.

what did i break off now? some bottom bearing in gearbox?

I don't know what you were doing to ".. torque tractor to a standstill many times." However it what you call the "flail" is the cutting blade and it is hitting the side of the mower, DON"T USE IT UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG AND FIX IT!!! Rotary mowers can be very dangerous if they are damaged and can cause a great deal of harm if a blade breaks or comes off. Talk to the service department at www.kingkutter.com and get some help. Were you using an over running coupler (ORC)with your mower ("...one way PTO adapter")? You should use an ORC with your mower because the TO-30 driveline will alllow the PTO to drive the rear wheels with the mower inertia even with the clutch pedal down. This can force you to go to places you may not want to go.

Hope this helps.
