NH55 rake - removing tine bars

A while back Kelly sent me info on how to remove the tine bars to grease bearings ...easier said than done. Is there a trick to this? How do you "loosen the bearing stud"? When I try to remove the nuts, the stud moves too. Two of the nuts have an allen wrench fitting (is this a newer design of the bolt?), but the rest just have a "wide" (less than 1/8 inch) shallow slot. I could find nothing that would fit that slot that was strong enough to hold the bolt to allow loosening the nut. There's got to be an better way. If anyone has bars for a 55, I could use a couple.

I used a small piece of hardened flat steel that fit into the slot, with a Cresent wrench holding the steel. not saying it was easy.

The allen studs are the newer design.

Once you get the studs off, have fun prying the bars out. :) :) :) That's the real challenge....

I redid my bearings this winter.
Real pain in the butt. I couldnt find any thing that would hold the studs enough to get the bolts loose.
I finnally purchased a big nut spliter and just split the nuts off the studs.
After repacking the bearings. I put new nuts on.
