Mark, the NH 404 was the conditioner designed to mount behinf your NH 451. Other models and brands could also be used, of course. If you find a NH 404, or other equilivents, and wish to connect it to the 451's PTO be aware that this combination is awkward in situations where you have to back up often or in fields that are not "straight and square". Evaluate whether you really need to condition and windrow your cut hay. If so, then be prepared to use the NH 404 as a seperate-pass tool on your field(s)... usually done several hours after you cut. If the extra pass with a conditioner will take too much time, then investigate the time-saving merits of a good haybine. But if time spent on the second pass over the new-cut hay will not be a problem, then a conditioner will be very useful, especially for those stemmy hay plants like clover and alfalfa. Eventually, you may want to try connecting the two pieces of equipment together and trying them on your fields in one pass. I've BTDT and I prefer to use conditioner seperate from the cutter.
