I saw an implement at a CaseIH/Kubota dealerthat was going out of business. It was an older implement that looked like a rotary tiller but it had the tines spaced out to rows. Im gonna say it would cover 4 narrow rows the whole thing was about 6 feet wide. It was going to be autcioned off but I missed the auction. I would like to know the name of the implement and horsepower requirements as well as any producers that might still make this kind of item. It was pto powered Im thinking it was some kind of rotary cultivator. but Ive never seen one here in MS.

The tiller you saw was a Multivator made by Comeb. They are also known as Strawberry cultivators or Multi-row cultivators. CCM also makes the model pictured.

Hay Dr. thats exactly what i saw but it was alot olderand a bit more narrow. I thought about building one for our hobby garden nextyear maybe even one for this fall to cultivate our turnips and radishes we plant as a cover crop for a field.

That is what I thought it was but didn't quite know how to describe it, knew wasn't a rotary hoe from your description and I believe you should be able to use old front tine tillers and mount on a frame for common drive to make any size you need

Cockshutt had a ground driven Rotary hoe in the late 50's. It looked like what you are describing. It had racks on the top so you could add weight if needed.Hmmmm.. model 261 I believe.

Taylor it could have been a rotary hoe. There were some of them that were pto powered but most were ground driven.

I know Ford sold both types. We had one of the pto powered that we used it in cotton and beans. Ours was a 4 row and looked kinda like a rototiller except it had straight pinpoint tines

Nope not a flail mower had tiller tines it. I own both a tiller and 2 flail mowers lol.

Why would anybody want a frail mower? You want a mower built strong to last, not a frail one that will break.
