Hey guys thanks for all the help. I've got it baling good now. I sped the twine holder timing up a little and adjusted the knife arm some. I,m baling wheat straw right behind a conbine when he dumps it out in a windrow. Any suggestions.? I was reading my manual and ti suggested using plunger extensions in springy crops. Have any of you guys ever tried this. I,m only missing about 3 out of 150. It takes about 150 to load my trailer.

Sometimes with straw that's about what you get. Check and make sure the restrictors are not worn down and the hay dog springs are in good tension or not broken. I baled a lot of straw through the years and never used plunger extensions. I did know a guy used them while baling corn stover.

Hey Mike, look at the bright side. That means over 98% of the bales are tied. If I could shoot free throws that good, I could play for the L.A. Lakers!!!LOL! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Can you tell me what is happening with the knot? Which end of the string is knotted and which one isn't? That would help me alot. Steve

I have a NH270 that suddenly started missing knots as well. It seems to be every or every other knot on the left side looking from the rear of the baler. I've tried most of the tweaks listed in this forum and have gotten a grasp of what does what, but still have "knot" got it fixed. I bought it used this year and baled about 1100 bales before this happened. It would randomly drop a bale here and there with no pattern before. Right side only misses with a real heavy windrow load now. Any ideas? Thanks.
