Mark,
Good morning.
We have decided to try to cut down the current belts. Right now my brother is out trying to round up a vice for applying the clips. After that we are going to start cutting the belts down to 40'. We haven't been able to locate any of the springs, unfortunately. I will let you know how it works out once we get it completed.
Would you know where I could get a manual for the 5800 Rounder? I have looked on-line, but so far I haven't had any luck. Maybe just looking in the wrong spot.

How is the 5800 working? I found three that I am about to purchase. Was wondering if you used the baler and what are the bales like?

You aren't going to believe this but I bought the baler from a guy that thought he would clean off his pasture and sell the clean-off..... .as hay. It didn't go over and he decided to get out. He told me that he would send me a manual on the machine.....I thought yeah right. Couple of weeks later here it came from a Hesston dealer in Chickasha, Ok. I was impressed. That said, you might go to a www search engine (google, yahoo) for a dealer and order one.

Have you measured the belts yet and if so how long are they?

How many springs do you have on each side.

The dealer that has the manual may be able to get you some springs too.

About to buy a hesston 5800 . would like to know what to watch for and wqhat the actual belt legnth should be .Please reply asap because I ony have to a day to call .
