I just purchased a used 484 round baler. Being knew to round baling I was wondering what kind of problems I may arise with this baler. I am pulling it with a 52 hp tractor. The baler makes soft centered 5 x 4 bales. Thanks

Carry a fire extinguisher either on the tractor or the baler or both. We burned a NI 484 up last summer. An extinguisher could have reduced the damage to a couple new belts instead of a new baler.

I have a 484 about 2 years i have replaced 1 belt and 1 bearing in the top back roller. The trouble i have is here in TN the fields are not flat if you are on a down hill grade bale gets full tie it open the door and the roll will not come out you can turn the tractor around and still will not come out mine has a "puller" onthe left side of the top but not on the right side and all it is is a piece of metal sticking out in the roll of hay. Flat or up hills no problems at all.
