Just couldnt wait to try out my NH469. Mowed up the swamp grass out west of the house.
This stuff could be really nice hay when cut young. Of course thats when it wet as heck in there. And sure enough it was wet as heck. I got stuck. Oh well. Thats why I have 2 farmalls now. To get my self out when I get stuck.

well i hope some of you have better luck than me! been nonstop rain here in SD, then the weather man gave a perfect 5-7 day forecast so i layed down 10 acres. (it wasn't quite ready yet but had a customer that really needed some call with a decent price to put some down) that was sat. afternoon. RAIN EVERY DAY SINCE! the best part is he found some elsewhere now.

I got a bit over 1/2 of my alfalfa & hay laying now. Just checking the radar here, if it pays to rake what I cut on Saturday. I see stuff going through north of me, you might be all wet?

Well, got 4 round bales made today - 3 yesterday, but they are silage bales - & I don't wrap, so they are going to the feeder.

I got both alfalfa fields cut now, but the storm is about 15 miles away. Weather Channel is beeping for the warning... Then the forcast changed - every other day, next 6 days, rain.

Blah.

I did the same thing, did`nt get stuck though . 30% chance of rain about every day but thats 70% it wont . I got alot of hay to get baled and have to get goin on it , missed 3 days last week because they was callin 30&40% rain and it did`nt rain . Gota stick that neck out there , farming is all about taking chances !!

I just realized some thing. It was the exact date last year. 6-14-03 That I got a uncontrolable urge to cut that swamp hay. Same results, Got stuck.
Atleast this year I got it cut 1st.
