What's everybody's opinion about this haybine. It's the PTO driven model and it is not a hydro swing. The owner said for $1000 I could take it home. Seems to be in decent shape. Anything special on these machines I should look for besides the usual?? Thanks for any help.

Look good around the wobble box to try to make sure it has not been broke off and wielded back. I had two of them sold the last one 2 years ago to my BIL for 1500 and it needed some maintence, he still uses it. The first one I had the box broke off and we weilded it back about 4 times after that. If the reel is farily straight it has proably been took care of. A new sicle and guards are well worth what they cost. I loved the machine the extra 3 ft. really makes a difference. Just right for a left and right rake setup. I have pulled it with a 50 HP but 75 is much better also a longer tractor is better because it has some side draft.

Jimmy, I personally am not a fan of that machine. (personal opinion only) The reel is very high maintance. Switching around from field to road is a pain. Overall, I just think the machine as a whole is a pain. Steve

Steve I probably mowed 10000 acres with each machine had very little maintance on the reel Yes trucking is a pain I had gates fixed so I elimenated a lot of that, but 15min to truck and a saving of 1hr in 20 acres leaves 30 min. If I was farming again I would go the disc rt. But if I had a choice of $1000 for a 9ft or 12ft I will go with the 12
