I am looking at a 4 wheel wagon running gear to buy. How much does something like this sell for? I havent look at it real close, so I dont know the manufacturer, but it has round tubes for the frame. What are some of the things I should look for before buying it? I will have to build a bed for it, are there any web sites out there that show the best the way to do it? This is all new for me as you can tell! Thanks for the input.

i've bought them for a $100 dollars with a bed but not very heavy duty. was still able to haul eight 800# bales. i've seen heavy JD gears sell for $1000. all depends on what you need, how bad you need it, and where you are when it sells!

A new no-name brand 6-ton running gear can be bought in Ephrata, PA, for $650. So that gives you an idea what a used no-name running gear might be worth.

And if you can look at a bare running gear...you can probably find one with a bed on it to get an idea on how to make one for yourself...this time of year theres no less than ten thousand of them out in the hay fields across the country. Take a tape measure and a scratch pad with you and ask a farmer if you can look at that old wagon over there...he just might say you can look at it about 50 or 75 times when we get that tractor hitched to it. They have a sense of humor, you know Fred OH
