Hey guys. Need help here. This shaft is a pretty important part. The one thats in there is to long. Works good to hold the cutter head up wile towing. But is way to long to use wile cutting.
Running it with out this stop is not an option as the head can rotate to far and dig in.
Obviously I am missing the original shaft and the removable stop.
The shaft is no longer serviced by NH but I did order a new stop. SO if I can figure out how long to cut this one. It should work.
If some one could measure thiers that would be cool.
Kelly

Kelly C,

I just got in from cutting some grass hay with my 469. In the transport position with the 4.25" little spacer lock in position the rod length is 19" center of end pins. So with the spacer block removed and the header lowered the shaft is 14.75" end pin to end pin. Hope this helps.

If you can wait until tomorrow I can measure mine tonight when I get home for you. Never had to mess much with that part, but I do remember it because like you said you put the header stop on that.

If no one else answers you today I will get you a measurement tomorrow off my 469.

Cool beans Shep.
Tomorow is fine as my part wont be in till Wednesday.
If you could measure from the center of the mounting hole to the end of the shaft. That way I can account for different shaft ends.

I just measured mine this morning for ya, it was sitting on the transport block and was 17.5 inches center of the pins to center of the pin and it has a 3 inch block in it. So without the block it is 14.5 inches fully closed center of the pins.

The lower part of mine looks different than yours, it is red and the end looks a little different, but if you measure pin to pin you should get the same result.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks Shep. Between you and Mathew. Looks like you guys have different sized transport blocks.
But you lowered lenth is with in 1/4 inch of each other.
I figure if I subtract the measurement from the center of the top pin to the top of the tube.
From the 14.5. That should give me the lenth of the bottom bar??
I think thats right. I havent finnished my 1st cup of coffee yet. Cant measure untill properly caffenated.
