I go to a lot of farm Auctions and was wanting to buy a square baler, whats the best used baler to get in the 1980's or the 1970's models & brands. Some of the older machines will last a lot longer and are easyer to repair. Or the less one to work on ,just want to sell some square bale here to horse feeders not be fixing it all the time!

In those years stay with the Deere units period due to the packer fork. A lot less trouble. 300 series are all alright. Rick

I've got a 336 Deere made in the mid 70's, I love it. Really good machine, only cosmetic changes between the 336 and the current production 338. My dad bought it new and baled a couple thousand a year for 3 years the bought a round baler, still did some custom work with it then, though (about a thousand a year) He gave it to me in 1983 and I've put 10,000 through it every year with only minor repairs, just wish te weather would break here so I could get going this year.
