The u joint on the pto shaft for the A-24 mower that have gave out on me. I went to the local Case-IH dealer at lunch today and they said the repair and/or replacement parts are no longer available. So my $250 mower that I put about 3 hours on is now useless. There were two manufacturers of the pto shafts, borg warner and blood bros. I think mind is the blood bros type. Dose anyone have any ideas of where I might find a replacement u joint for this?

Well I went to Napa and found someone who n=knew how to measure the old part and they found one that fit. They had to order it, but they had it here in a day. It is nice to go to an automotive store where people know how to find parts when it is not listed in the computer.
Thanks everyone for your input. This board has been a great educator for me. I grew up on the small farm and learned a bit there, but has been wonderful.
Thanks

Farm supply stores in my area (Farm & Country (CT Tractors), Runnings, TSC, NAPA, General Trading, anything with 'Fleet' in the name, etc.) carry all the pto parts I've ever needed, from the bearing you need to a complete shaft.

How much horsepower? What size shafts at the ends? How long? Constant velocity or standard U-Joints? How large across the U-joints, what diameter for the bearing housings? Check the replacement parts in CT (888-8CT-FARM) or Shoup (800-627-6137). Or take the remains to NAPA for parts. Generally replacing bearings in U-joints isn't hard. Replacing whole U-joints with standard farm parts isn't hard with a little cutting and welding in a farm related machine shop. Heavy truck equipment shops also build and repair U-joint shafts.
