I have been looking for a side delivery rake for some time preferably a NH but no luck. I ran accross a Massey Fergusson model 37 in what appears to be working condition. I can not see a way to disable the rake from turning when transporting it down the road. Any one out there that knows anything about this rake. Any pros or cons on the rake would realy appreciate all reponcses. thanks

I have one of these rakes, when I'm going to road it very far I take the drive chains off at the splice and grease the axles good. And yes there is a spring loaded button on the bottom side of a collar that you turn to disengage it. Good Luck, RLS

I looked at a Massey the other day. I don"t know what model but there is a button you push or pull underneath on the coller where the drive shaft comes across the back of the rake. Hope this helps.

I use a MF 36 - likely very similar. When you raise the basket there should be a cable connected to a lever on the gearbox which disengages the drive. Also on the inside of each wheel hub is a 1/4" x 4" rod that should be clipped under a spring clip - this disengages the clutch in the hubs which drives the gearbox. HTH.

No I have not bought the rake. I wanted feed back first to find out what other people thought of that model of rake.

I think there is a knob you about the dia. of a pencil you pull up or out and then slide it the knob in a groove or channel to dis engage the rake. Look around by the wheels and drive chain. Been a long time since I looked at one . Could be all wrong.
