Got my NH68 all ready to go!! Put a new knotter on that pesky right side. Hope that fixes the 3 bale knot hang I was getting last year. I am sure glad NH had those $148 knotters last year. I should have got a few more. Looks like they are back up in the $400 range again.
Put a new statinary Knife on. Sharpened the knife on the plunger. Welded a broke cross member on the plunger. Fixed the plunger slide adjustment bolt that broke 1st thing last summer, and put a new fly wheel bushing on it. Took half the day just to get the plunger back in. Thats one sucky job.

Time to pull my beater IH241 into the shop. Hope that last just long enough untill I get that vermier 504 G I want.

kelly, good to see all that work done,, and a good feeling also. i just got done with my 271. cant wait for that first cutting of hay though. btw-have always enjoyed your pictures of making hay.. be sure to post them in the future

Sure no problem. I am sure I provide some funny fodder for the guys who really know what they are doing, But I have fun any way.

Took a drive this morning up to the 25 acres I just purchased. Wanted to see how it drained after all the rain. Looks good. Grass is about 7 inches high and draining nice. Cant wait to get in there and bale that up. Farmar next place over saw me out there and came over to offer to bale the hay for me. Said he had been keeping it baled for the previous owner. I had to decline of course.

Guy down the rd called to remind me I promised to bale his hay this year. Better get that 241 ready as he wants the big ones.
Its almost time, I am starting to get pumped.

Funny you should mention the 300. I tinkered with it a little today. I purchased a used set of pistons and sleeves from user of this web site.
Good looking set for a used set.
I pulled the other 2 pistons out and was going to start pulling the sleeves. Come to discover that the disk for the sleeve puller is for the standard size sleeve for the 300. I have the larger ones in the engine. So now I need to buy a new disk or maybe borrow one from some nice person.
The 2 outer sleves and Fire craters are in great shape. I may have a fix for some one else who has a bad one or 2 in thiers.

My 400 is runing great!! all ready to go. My H is ready also.

You going to update the 300 page? I like seeing it get fixed. Your website is amazing and once you get the 300 done and page done too it will be a great wealth of knowledge. Thanks for your time to make that great website.

Me too, I really enjoy your site.
I'm only 16, and stuck at boarding school. I still enjoy seeing that 68 being rebuilt and in action. I live one the Eastern Shore of Maryland where I run a No. 5 sickle mower and a Massey Ferguson #10 Baler behind our Kubota riceburner in the summer. I've got 20 acres of orchard grass to do for a neighbor, and I can't wait...Get outta school Sunday and hoping to start cutting when I get home.
Keep posting pictures, I love em.
