Anyone know what a p.t.o shaft would cost for a 6 ft. brushog, Rhino S.E. 6 S/N 102298 (10-15 years old) the best place to look, salvage or new, (east coast area) or, could approximate would cost, got a bent one, works fine still, real tough mower, I kept R.P.M.s low, and no noticable vibration at all, but it's bent so either something is gonna wear or there's a unoticable vibration hammering the tractor's p.t.o. system, or differential on the mower, so time to replace it before cutting again this year, which won't be long.

Price a new one. Then price having it straightened. I bet the price difference will indicate that buying a new one is the way to go. I would not continue using a bend drive line. First thing to go will be the PTO seal on your tractor and the gear box seal on your cutter followed rapidly by other things. Not to mention the safety factor.

Billy,

Have you tried taking that shaft to a press? They are easily straightened.

Thanks, Think I've bought from them before, I'll give em a buzz. I do have a guy locally who does driveshaft work, I'll see if he has any ideas, not sure if he does PTO'type shaft's but he should know, I'll have to take the safety cover off and take a look, might be salvageable.
