In the 50's, 60's, and even in to the 70's two bottom plows were fairly common on new equipment lots. They have since gone the way of the steamboat, and the stagecoach. There were some good ones. As mentioned, Oliver, IH, and John Deere were popular. The most popular 3 point, two bottom plow was the Ford model 101. Ford built a ton of 30-45 horsepower tractors. When the other "mojor brands" were moving on to big horsepower tractors, Ford continued to build a popular "smaller" tractor. They sold a lot of plows to go with them. Many of the tractor buyers that bought brands other than Ford, also bought their plows. Point being, there's still a BUNCH of 'em still around. They are the easiest to find parts for today. (Points, shins, landslides, and moldboards) The model 101 plow was offered in 12",14", and 16" bottoms. Single, two, three, and four bottom. Shearbolt or reset trip beam protection. Other options include a tailwheel, or "heel", Bolt or lever "drafting adjustment". trash covers, several styles of coulters, and a choice of catagory 1 or cat. 2 hitch. Ford "contracted" with Oliver, Pittsburg Plow, and in later years, White (formerly Oliver) to build these plows. They are as easy pulling as any plows made. With the fact that they have parts available NOW, and a plentiful supply of plows still on the market, I think they are the best choice TODAY. Good luck, and happy plowing. John
