Caught a break in the weather for a few days and finished wrapping today, yipee!! Guy that helps me roll and wrap did 125 bales today (I just got 20 in, then went to helping move rolls), a new record for him (from 1 to 5:30). Almost didnt happen though, boy that helps him was coming down a hill just a little too fast with a load that was just a little off center. Wagon wound up on top of a roll of hay and the flat on top of the tractor fender. If the roll hadnt caught the rear of the first wagon or if the tongue had broken instead of bending the wagon would have gotten him, just cant be too careful.

Sounds like a "good day" was made into a great one by dodging a bullet. My day saturday, could have been a catastrophy, but ended up being "not-so-bad". I was hauling all the equipment back to the main farm, from planting season. I had to load the corn planter on my gooseneck trailer for the first time. That alone was quite an experience. Well, I get it loaded, and pull out of the field. As I was crossing an old culvert by the road, it decided to cave in. The trailer wheels sunk about 3 feet into the mud. The truck was out on the road, blocking traffic. I thought for sure the trailer was going to turn over. It was leaning at more than a 45* angle. I was a nervous wreck. I had the 4440 setting there, so I chained the trailer corner to the 3 point hitch, lifted the corner of the trailer, and had a neighbor pull the truck forward. When the trailer was setting safely on the road, I took the first breath in a few minutes. I was shaking! I've ran over that culvert a million time over the years, without the first problem. I guess the law of averages caught up finally. John

That was really a near miss. Glad eveerything worked out the way it did! We got about 95 bales rolled yesterday afternoon. We've had good weather this week (western KY)the bad news is everything kept breaking down! Oh, well got about 100 more acres and the first cutting will be done! Be careful everyone.

It's a good feeling when things go "right" for a change. Like finding a $20.00 bill in an old jacket pocket!!
