Just stepped out of the building for the first time in a couple hours. Nothing but big thunderheads everywhere. Looks like it may just storm afterall. We had the driest March on record, a fairly dry April, and May has been stormy, but not all that much rain. These clouds look like they may level out the average. John

Hey John.... I drove through those rains this afternoon! We were on I-70 headed for Indy for my Uncle's "visitation" (Uncle Vic was a WWII bombadier). Anyway, I thought several times about pulling over because the rain was so heavy that I could barely see past the front of the hood, but the traffic was so heavy {and driving at 70+MPH on I-70, in the middle of semi's, and cars} there was no way to pull over! What a white-knuckle ride! We drove into the rain storms just east of Terra Haute and drove out of the storms just before we got to Indy. :-O

We could use a lil rain down this way. Last yr. I was contemplating crawfish farming and contractor road repair. This yr. it has been dry but this is the first yr. we have had a real SPRING!!

Personally though I would rather have dry than mud. I will be thankful for whatever "makes" as corn, beans etc was planted in March.

I sure hope you get some rain, just don't send any more our way. Here in Ohio we're just about submerged. Wet in March, wet in April, wet in May - there's a trend here, I think. Looked like things were thinking about maybe drying out a bit, but then it stormed again all day Saturday and the last two nights and now we're up to our eyeballs in more water. On the bright side, the pond is full and the grass is growing *real* well... :-)

Dang it! I *thought* I said "Don't send any more rain our way"!! Last night it came down cats, dogs, frogs, snakes, pigs, cows, and rhinosceroses! Driveway is about half washed out in a couple places - which is better than the neighbors, whose driveway is completely gone at the road. I've got to check with the weather service, but it feels like it's been raining every day for over a month...and why's the guy across the road building that big boat, anyways?

After 2 years of drought, (which we were 27" behind in rainfall) this spring has been very wet. Most of the corn is planted but only 30-40% of the tobacco is set. Last night, just south of Kansas City, it rained 10-11 inches, so you may have more rain on the way. It'll be awhile before I complain about too much rain. LOL
