Identify older hay rake

Im trying to replace a few parts,but there is no name plate or id tage. frame is red and larg drive wheels on either end are yellow.Axel drives chain drive to spocket it has a short drive shaft that is conected to the gear box.Could i be new holland? thanks for any Help GLENN

I have an international harvester model 15 parallel bar rake that has a chain from the drive wheels to the gear box, do you have any pictures?

Another one that comes to mind is a Massey-Harris...those colors sound right for M-H. Cockshutt would also be a possiblity.

I still have a Massey it was the first of the 2 wheel rakes, 6 bar, no chain drive on them.

Jimmy,

When he mentioned the "large drive wheels", I thought of an older rake with steel wheels and possibly 3 or 4 bars, not one of the modern-day rubber-tired ones...when I say "modern-day", I mean anything after the mid-'50s - LOL!

You are right Stan, but some of the modern ones had chain drive I just don't know which ones except New Holland and Massey New Idea had belt drive. Of the older rakes we had a Ihc and a David Bradly and I don't remember if either one or both had chain drive that has been 45 years. LOL

That is what I am wodering also. Parallel bar or 45* bar and no. of bars and no. of wheels, 2 large in front with 1-3 small in back?, ground drive or pto?

Sounds almost like one I'm fixing up but I have found IH on a place or 2 but other then that I have no idea what it is. Look your over real good most of the time there is something on it that will tell you

The colors sound correct for a New Holland, but I won't say for sure.

NH that I know of is all gear drive - model/serial plate is on the gearbox. Never saw a NH with chain, but I sure haven't seen everything. :)
