I have a NH 275 baler which does a decent job however I wanted to get a bigger or higher capacity machine. A guy in the area called me with a NH 315. I was wondering if this is truly a higher capacity machine and also if it is a low maintenance machine. The 275 I have now is very little maintenance.

We had a 315 and it was a good baler. We had a manual stooker behind it and many a day passed that I was toast and so was my dad from trying to keep up with it. Our personal best on a 90 degree day was 1800 bales in just under four hours. We ran 30 minutes for dad stooking then 45 for me.

I'm sure someone else can comment on the capacity question. I've got a 315 and it's been great. And I bale with very little (28) horsepower, no problem. I'm haying on such a small scale that capacity is not as big an issue is a baler that will actually make a bale!
