Does anyone know how to tell the age of this spreader? What is it worth? Also, has anyone worked on a similar machine? The small sprockets in front that the chain rides on are bent. Also, there are two levers. The left one lifts the chain off the left wheel gears to disengage. But I don't know what the other lever is for. It seems to go to the right wheel.

It sounds like the one we have the lever on the right lowers a dual bracket containing a cast wheel that rides along the axle of the right hand tire. This actually allows for the chain in the bed to move. It also handles the braking system for the last gear on the bed. The brackets on front can be bent back. by the way you wouldn't happen to have a manaul for it. We think ours is close in age to our 1949 Massey Harris Pony.
