New models of what????? ????? ??? Tractors? yes, some that don't have live power have a "built in" over run clutch.

Rotary cutter??? No, i don't know of one cutter that comes with an over run clutch.

They are not the same. A slip clutch is part of the equipment being powered and is designed to slip if becomes overloaded an example would be on a rotary mower that hits heavy cutting the clutch woulkd slip to prevent possible damage to either the mower or possibly the tractor. A overiding clutch allow the rotory mower or whatever to keep on spinning without spinning the PTO on the tractor.

If you know what a sprag clutch is think of the overrun as operating as a sprag.Will pull the load but does not provide deceleration to the load.

Does an over run clutch help protect pto system (hitting stump or rock) like a slip clutch?
