What type of twine (plastic of sisal) should I use on this model?

We use 7200 sisal in ours. We tried plastic once and we couldn't even use it, too worn to grab the plastic twine. 9000 sisal was giving us troubles with the knots constantly breaking. Generally speaking, use sisal in an older baler and it should work fine, unless there are bigger problems.

I use sisal in mine. I have seen people use plastic in their model 12. Usually, most people around here(east Tn.)only use plastic when they round bale. Plastic does better when the hay is being stored outside in the elements. Since most square bales are stored inside, plastic is not needed. You can really open a debate on the topic of plastic vs. sisal. I personally do not like the thought of plastic laying around the field where my horses can get tangled up in it. However, I think that what matters the most is what your hay customers personally prefer. Anyway, this is my 2 cents worth. Hope it helps. Don

To Don and Don one from Wisconson and the other from Tenn. What I thought was interesting, is that both of you had the same answer. Thanks-Jack
