I have a NH 460 haybine and the rollers have stop turing. This had been working until the rollers jammed. What is required to get the clutch to ingage to get power to the rollers. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Tom, can you check and let me know exactly what is turning and what is not? I believe you have a main slip clutch at the input of the gearbox, but there is a small slip clutch on the top roll as well. Let me know and I will try to help you. Steve

Yes, the cutter bar is moving but the clutch that that transfers power to the sprocket that drives the roller is not working. The shaft going to the clutch is turning but I can't tell what makes the clutch engage. - thanks

if the cutter bar is moving but your rollers are not turning you may have a problem with the override clutch may not be engaging, there are 5 pins which have a spring behind each, the holes wear and the springs will not push the pins out to engage, hint the cost of a new override clutch is outragous, you can take the existing clutch to have a machine shop and have them put in oversized pins.. good luck

jnewark is correct. It's hard to believe that all 5 pins are stuck in, but for some reason the pins are not driving. They are spring loaded. Maybe the jaws on the piece next to the sprocket are worn off so the pins have nothing to drive against. Best thing to do is pull that top sprocket/clutch assembly off and look at it. Steve
