I have and older King Kutter 5' finishing mower that I am trying to remove the blades for replacement. All I've managed to do is loosen the top nut on the pulley or spin the whole pulley, but the bottom bolt will not budge. Any advice? Also are the bolts regular right handed threads? Thanks..Joe

My 6-foot KK finish mower has left-hand thread bolts. I usually break them loose by blocking the blade I'm working on with a 2x4. Usually they come loose without too much trouble. 'Course, if yours have been on for a long time they might be harder to get off. If you've been cranking them the wrong way, that probably won't help either. (I'm glad I looked at the manual before changing the blades the first time.)

I just checked the KingKutter finish mower manual, and it says that the blade bolts are left-hand thread. Look on page 21. (You'll need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view this manual).

If you go to the KingKutter web site you'll find manuals for all the equipment they make. I hope this helps.

I have never seen a finish mower with stump jumper. Anyway I recently purchased a Keen-Cutter
and will need to find out also. My 5' Woods has
reverse threads on the spindels so that may be the case with the KK.

Sorry, missed the word "finish."

I never removed the blade itself, but I had the bolts on the gearbox come loose. I had to take the stump jumper and blades off to get to the gearbox bolts. It came off surprisingly easy. I think if you would remove the stump jumper, you could get at the blades more easily.
