Need ideas - Sprayer

Get a roll of toilet paper and drop a sheet a intervals in the field. Just drop straight down and you will be able to tell where you have been if you cant see your wheel tracks.

First time it rains the toilet paper will melt and goes away. Learned it from my lime truck driver who asked me to mark sink holes this way.

I learned the same trick to track wounded deer. Many folks around here call me when they need help tracking. I carry a roll of TP in my fanny pack while hunting. When you look back at the trail of pieces of white TP you can see the path that the deer took, which points you in the right direction.

Now, back on topic, I would think that it would be hard to drop TP while driving a sprayer!

I have a foam marker {A-Mark} that I only used about twice {two years} before changing spraying programs {it now sets on a shelf}. Foam markers are relatively simple and I think a person could make his own.

There are dyes you can add to the spray mix, cheap this time, but it does add up over the years.

Foam markers are common, if you search the ag places like www.farmshow.com you will probably find some made from shaving cream cans or the like, through full blown auto units costing over a grand.

I would think that some watered down latex paint of a bright color would leave somewhat of a trail to follow. Kind of like the purchased markers that use a silver paint.

Operate a left or right boom end paint tip from the tractor seat. I envision a hose leading to each with a valve for right or left. You could set it up with solenoids and possibly a vehicle flasher to turn it on and off automatically.

You would have to pump up the sprayer from time to time, but I'm thinking it would be a cheap solution. You can probably just guage each swath from the previous tire tracks.
