I hope to have my Dearborn model 14-73 sickel mower cutting hay it the AM, maybe PM. Just replaced all the blades and some of the guards. See if the old 8N can pull it through five acres of pasture grass, with out over heating.

It may overheat if you are going through tall grass, weeds, etc. (as necessary when bush-hogging) due to plugging the radiator. In this case, blow the seeds and other trash out with compressed air (from the engine side, of course, with engine off) A piece of screen can be wired over the grill to ease the cleaning.

When using a sickle-bar, you should have no problem. If you do follow the advice given previously.

The cooling system on an 8N is really over-engineered. If your 8N overheats operating a sickle mower, you better start flushing the radiator.
