I bought an AC-B with a woods belly mower. The mower has two right-handed threaded spindles and a left-hand. I was mowing the other day and apparently the left-hand spindle blade came unbolted because of the direction it was spinning. I've priced a new spindle and it is rather expensive. My question to you guys is.. will a helicoil work if I bore it out and insert a righthand thread helicoil? Thanks in advance for your insight or alternate solutions:)

try using the medium strength (blue) Loctite. It can still be removed, but should stop blade loosening.

Thanks John. I will give that a try. That's a much easier solution to try.

I would go to an industrial supply, they make bolts with a nylon insert to help prevent them from loosening up. Muck like the insert you find in lock nuts.
