I bought a jd 24t baler and was wanting to use Sisal twine in it, has plastic twine in it now. Do I have to change anything to go to sisal?

Check your billhooks for wear, I had to replace mine on a 24T and a 336 that use to use plastic. I had tying problems until I did this. I think it was around $90.00 for billhooks. As for the other comments about plastic or sissal, it is user preference. I stay away from plastic because it never goes away and the majority of my customer prefer sissal. So that is what I use, if you are shipping hay I guess plastic would be better?!?

I'm with Bob, get the manual from JD. They are available and necessary. I would switch to sisal.
I hate that plastic twine. Seems no matter how hard I try it gets wound up in everything, including the livestock and can be a bear to get off. I use sisal and really prefer it.

Ernie, check your operators manual. If you don't have one get one or you'll be constaaantly lost trying to operate this thing. You can also ask your local dealer but that will only answer one question. The manual has a lot of neat stuff, like how to use this thing..... ..

Ernie; You do what works for you but I would stay with the plastic. Much more dependable and it is cheaper to purchase by the pallet also. The myth of people with horses not buy plastic is just that as 92% of my production goes in semi to horse market.

YOU CAN USE EITHER ONE NO PROBLEM.NO AJUSTMENT NEEDED. BUT STAY WITH 7000 TWINE.IT WILL NOT BRAKE.
