I've never used a 385 planter but they look like a good unit. I got my corn out and am going to sell my plate planter. One of the reasons is that I don't think that they grade corn as closely as the used to grade it. In my area I have trouble getting graded corn. We have to go by the lot numbers and often we get two different grades. This causes problems and I end up buying seed by grade instead of variety. Any way I am going to get a JD 7000. One of the reasons is that we have 2 good JD dealers close. But in the past I have looked at 385's and was impressed. If I found a good one that is resonably price I would buy it. Just my opinion.
