Was putting new disc on a 4 gang (5 disc each). doing the front 2 gangs. I read the dearborn manual that came with it and it says the unit should be already assembled. How tight should the nut be on the shaft that goes through the disc. It has a nut lock washer that i can lock down at different a tightness. Thank You!

I'd like to find some 7/16"X5" carrage bolts with fine thread.

Thanks to Jerry D in NC he told me where to find disc. Thank You!

Hey Fella's thanks for the advice this is my first disc to work on. I'll sure lock them down after they roll some. No more running over stumps.

You are more than welcome. Piece of pipe over the handle of a big pipe wrench and alot of grunting at the other end of the pipe. I usually run the disc a few feet or more if possible before bending over the tabs on that lock washer. Lets the blades settle in a bit. Then tighten again.

A little tighter that you could possibly make it.

To be scientific about it - a WHOLE lot tight!

The nut on the shaft(axle) that goes through the disc should be as tight as you can get it. We use a pipe over the wrench to give us more leverage and we'll still have one come loose now and then. The disc never seem to tighten up, but they will work loose.
