What to watch out for when buying a used planter

I am planning on purchasing a used planter in the next couple of weeks and I was wondering if anyone had any pointers? I am looking at a 4 row White 5100 with liquid fertilize and insecticide options. The planter is no-till and comes with a monitor. It looks like the planter has been well taken care of (shedded anyway). I want to make sure I don't get stuck making repairs instead of planting my crop.

Any advice is appreciated.

With any planter, check all bearings on any openers and gauge/press wheels. Check blade diameters, too. Worn blades give poor seed placement. With liquid fertilizer, I'm assuming there is a squeeze pump, so you'll want to make sure that works, plus check all the hoses and fittings. Don't know much about the insecticide boxes. Check the seed hoppers over for cracks around the bottoms. You'll also want to check the metering system for wear. That is different for each brand and I'm not familiar with the White enough to tell you what to look at. Follow the link I have posted and ask the question there. A fellow by the name of Ed Winkle may be able to give you some tips.
