JD 350 side delivery rake

Where can I get parts for a JD 350 rake.
The local JD dealer said he doesn't list parts for this model.
I bought 80 new teeth from the local farm supply store, but I need bearings for the left main drive wheel (where the four bars attach). I guess I could remove the bearings and measure them, but there should be somebody furnishing parts?

Also I am adapting a JD 5 mower from a JD B tractor to JD 430. Think I will use the 3-pt. hitch. Any problems to look out for?

If you have a quick tatch hitch on your number 5, JD had a setup to use it on the 420 or 430. I believe it shows in the #8 oeprator's manuel but should work with either. You don't use the 3 point to hang the mower but can use it to lift the bar. I have one that hooks on the drawbar mount and to the drawbar. I saw one adapted to a 3 point once but it was a real mess. As mentioned you need a solid mount of some type.

The #5 is specificlly not recommended for tractors like the 430. I think the book actually mentions the 40 or the 430 possibly, but the hitch is the same. It is because of the "clamp" system used to attach the mower. I remember that my father successfully adapted a hitch for his 420t tractor, which involved a round bar for the clamps to attach to, and angle iron bracing to prevent any side to side sway. As I remember, you did not use the lift on the hitch at all, and if you did, it was possible to raise the hitch bar to the point where ther pto drive shaft was interfered with. The regular hydraulic cylinder raised and lowered the mower. You will need to eliminate all side to side sway in the hitch for a certainty, I cannot repeat that enough! All I can say is "good luck!"
