Well I'm still shopping. I've found a JD 336 baler in pretty good shape. They are asking $2500 Think it's a good price? It's got a hydrolic kicker too. Any downfalls to this baler? Thanks!

The 336 are very good machines. We replaced ours this year with a 337. Same machine just wider pick up by about 2 feet. Been trying to get 1800 out of ours here. Some rust from the hay chaf setting on it. Had it at 2 auctions and every one hates a little rust so I am going to repaint it and run new hay in it then sell it. It seems that in southern wisconsin NH rules the baler prices then JD.

No obvious weakness in that baler. One of the best balers ever made by ANYONE. That's a good price if it's in decent shape. I have one. It's had THOUSANDS of bales of hay and straw ran through it. Only a few "minor" repairs ever. Parts are still easy to get, should you need them. Either buy it, or send me the address so I can go look at it! John

The ejector may have some issues. The ejector arms will get metal fatigue around the uppermost pivot pin. Most of the #30 ejectors have had this welded. If the person doing the welding knows his stuff, you won't have any problems. You should check there, welded or not, for stress cracks. Also check the pan for cracks. Sometimes the aluminum stresses after 100,000 bales or so. I sold one 336 with ejector 2 years ago for $2600, and traded another one for $3500, so the price is right.

Thanks for the input! The pan is in pretty good shape. Their is some slop around the one top piviot point, he was planning on getting it welded but got another baler. It uses twine, I'm not sure the bale size.

That's good info on the ejector. I've never owned one, but have wondered what happens after a few thousand bales. The 336 Deere balers sell for a low of $2500, to as much as $5000 around southern Indiana/ Northern Kentucky. VERY popular. I sure like mine. John

I have a 336. great baler, the only thing i don't like is the pickup should be wider.

i bought a 346 at a sale 2 weeks ago for a buddy and only paid 1500 for it. kicker was rough but got a whole complete #40 kicker for 75. put the other kicker screens on and looks super.we priced some 336 and 346 balers from dealers and they ranged from 4-7k so 2500 sounds good if it ties.
