well i drove down to crawfordsville yesterday with my dad and we picked up my nh479.it was a long drive but traffic wasnt to bad and it pulled real well.man it is rougher loookng than i remember when i went and looked at it back in january.it needs a little tlc.

Everything I can afford looks rough... It is always satisfying to bring it into better condition than you bought it. I just pulled my used Kuhn rake/tedder combo into the shop tonight to see if it can make a transformation. I always say I am going to buy equipment I don't have to do anything to. Then I always see something I can put some effort in and save a little money. I never seem to be able to find all that money I saved.

479's must be the haybine equivalant of Vegas.
If you find a good one and take care of it you get a lot of work for very little investment. If you accidentally buy the wrong one...well, throw a bunch of $$$ at it and roll those dice on the next one.

well its not too bad the rolls aren't too bad so i think it will be alright.got to replace the roll drive chains and doe alot of maintnance on it.and do some sheet metal work as it is rough lookin.but mechanicaly i think it will work good.hey i got to get my feet wet some how.hehe!
i got to make a skid shoe for the right side,but i like makn stuff so i hope to get her fixed up.

Sounds like you and the machine are made for each other! I always worry about wobble boxes. Everyone always tells me to watch out for the wobble box. Every time I went to look at one I asked the guy about the wobble box and he would act like he never heard of it. Didn't think that was a good sign, so I never bought one. Good luck with yours!

well i know im excited about it ,but i know it needs some work.i got new roller chain for the drives sprockets that drive the rolls it didnt even have a chain on the lower roll!i got to get a cylinder and hoses for it and might as well put in new sickle blades.etc ..etc...
it just keeps going lol
