My grand father has a Vanbrunt-John Deere seeder and I am trying to figure out how old it could be. How long did John Deere use Vanbrunt as part of label? This seeder has rubber tires on it so how old could it be? Anyone know?

John Deere bought Van Brunt in 1911. They used the John Deere Van Brunt name up to 1959. The plant where they made then up to 1959 is at Horicon Wisconsin, and is the lawn mower plant today.

JD acquired VanBrunt in 1911 and kept the name into the 50s anyway.

I think Van Brunt name was finally dropped from the drills when the FB-B was introduced in 1958 or 59.
