Im trying to find a parts manual for this mower. Also can anyone tell me what years the no 9 was made. Im hoping it was made during the same years as my 40tricycle. Thanks for any info.

Thanks to each of you for the responses. I was unable to locate a manual on ebay but my local JD dealer was kind enough to copy theirs for me!

That sounds like a good dealer! You should buy all your mower parts from him to help him stay in business.

I'm a Ford tractor guy, but I have been impressed with the level of service the JD dealer has provided in those rare occasions when I've needed something for my #9 mower. Once they didn't have my part but did a search and found it in a dealer a state away. Rather than order it from the other dealer, mark it up and sell it to me (which is what I would have expected) they gave me the 800 number of the other dealer and let me buy it direct from them.

I don't know the exact years they were made, but since it is a 3 point mounted mower, I would assume it came out sometime after Ferguson's patents for the 3 point hitch ran out (early 50's) and everybody started putting 3 point hitches on their tractors. I can't see JD marketing a mower that couldn't be used on one of their tractors.

Don't know about the years made, but a persistant search of ebay will turn up the operators and parts manuals at the best price. JD also stocks manuals, but from my perspective they are a little pricey. I bought both mauals for the JD #5 off of ebay and paid less for both than I would have paid JD for one.
