My NH super 55 hay rake is one that has a red basket and yellow frame. I had on idea that NH swiched paint schemes so many times on their rakes.

Nice job. Looks like you will be ready for first cutting. I seeded some brome grass in the thin spots in my hay field yesterday. The alfalfa is looking good. Can't wait to get started.

Ummm....is it just me....er, New Holland?

Could I just ask why you painted it all bright red? No offense meant.

On the NH55 it was all red except the wheels.
The 56 is when they started with the yellow basket.

I believe the 55 had a red basket and a yellow frame. The 56 on had the yellow basket and red frame. Nice looking rake but it is not painted correctly.

Acording to this color sales pamplet. It show a brand new NH55 raking some hay and its all red except the wheels.
Maybe the Super 55 had the yellow frame?

Actually Kelly some of the first 55's were all red but most were like mine. I have several pieces of advertising lit and the early 55's were red on the basket carrier but then seemed to switch over to the yellow/red color scheme. You should have been able to tell which your's was when you dis-assembled it for painting.

I think that bracket may have been yellow. I got red paint under the yellow when wire brushing the basket. I dont rememeber getting red after doing that bracket.
Its red for now. Got too many others to get to. Maybe I will revisit it during the summer lul.
That looks kinda slick.

Yeah when I got to taking off brackets and such I started to find red paint on the basket and yellow on the hangers and was very confused. It was paul that sent me a picture of his that convinced me I had not last the last bit of sense I had. Of course my wife thought I had when I drug in that rust bucket before painting. Older gentleman in the community followed me home to make sure I got home. He saw the rake 6 months later and was so happy I had give up on that other rake and bought a new one.....
