I have been putting out some roundup with my spray rig and now I need to spray some 2-4D and how do you guys clean the tank to get all the roundup out? Don't want to have any roundup in the tank to kill my grass. Thanks

Triple rinse the tank. I usually set my bypass hose to discharge outside the tank and add clear water with the pump running and the booms shut off until the water in the tank is clear, then add some dishwashing soap and flush the booms, flush with water until no more bubbles. No need for ammonia/vinegar/etc with Roundup, it is very soluable and easy to clean. 2,4-D is a different story (and atrazine if you plan to follow with Prowl for that matter, but that's another story). 2,4-D is a phenoxy herbicide made of either a chloronated hydrocarbon amine or ester. It is important to neutralize it with ammonia prior to storage or it will affix to the plastic/fiberglass (if you will be spraying sensitive crops.) When I am spraying I try to use 2,4-D first and then spray several barrels of Roundup or Gramoxone before cleaning that way I only have to clean really good once.

I have always cleaned first with water to dilute the residue. Then add water an amonia, agitate real good, and pump it out through the tips.

Haven't used much RU, but this is what I do for all my chemical switches. No mistakes yet in 5 years....

Farm supply store sells a 'tank cleaner' product as well, but amonia should be the product to do it.
