Well, I didn't get it. It was in pretty good shape. Sold with 1 row pitman knife corn head and hay pickup for $1450! Nobody expected a 30 year-old chopper in what is now an area bereft of dairy farms to bring that. So the search continues. Found a couple of Fox 1000s coming up for sale . . . . .

I never liked the cut and throw system on a harvester. They are ok for corn silage but haylage was always a tough job to fill wagons. I would look at parts availability on Fox harvesters before buying. Buy a harvester with a blower, they work much better.

This sale has 2 Fox 1000s, and my neighbor over the hill has 2 parts machines behind his barn. I'd fix one of them, but I want to try to find a running one first so I can be a little ahead in the game. Local former Fox dealer has piles of NOS chopper parts in the shed behind the shop. Not really worried about parts supply. Only filling a 10'x40' silo once a year.
