Hi all -

I just recently bought a massey model 57 reversible 4 bottom plow. The plow has spring trip bottoms and unfortunately after my first pass I hit a old buried wooden fence post and tripped the first bottom -- How do I reset this? -- I put the bottom back in the slot by rolling backwards and it went right in, started another pass and once it dug in a bit it tripped again this time without hitting anything.. are there shear pins that I need to replace?, or is there a reset sequence I need to do.. I did not get a manual with it so I'm flying blind any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Bill

There's probably a roller in there somewhere that may not be going back in its slot. My IH plow has a setup like that. It hadn't been used in 10 years, left outside, and the rollers were stuck. First couple times I tripped out on rocks, the bottoms wouldn't stay in after being reset. I ended up dropping the bottoms out of the standards and cleaning the rust out of everything and getting stuff moving like it was supposed to move.
