Storing the 3pt Fertilizer Spreader

I wash my fertilizer spreader when I am through, let it dry and then coat all the spreader arms and drop pan with used motor oil. I am wondering what else might help prevent rust. I then store it in a dry stable stall. Mike in Exeter Ontario

I use diesel to coat it after use with fertilizer - Not as heavy & gooey as oil. Works good so far!

Coat bare metal with Fluid Film available at JD and NH dealers. Mine show no rust since using last spring.

Soap and HOT water when you wash it out works wonders.
