well i was at the sale all day and the nh 258 went for 1900$ so i figured i didnt have a chance so they finally got to the wheel rake it went for 250$ and then they got to the last one and i got it for 45$!!!! man im so happy.well now my question is does anybody know what colors and what parts are supposed to be what colors?its a four bar rake and i can only find an eagle on the earth cast on the top of the gear box.so i figure its a case.if you stand behind it the gearbox is on the right side and the drive shaft goes forward to a bearing shaft and sprocket and then chain drives the wheel on the end of the spoke wheel.i found some spots of orange paint on a couple of spokes and the bars that the fingers are on.but i im not sure about the rest of it it green in some spots and it has one rust covered wheel an one that j.d. green.so i would like to know what color to paint the frame and basket and the wheels and then the bars?thanks sorry so long

The eagle over a globe is the case logo. I had a 4 bar one years ago and I replaced the teeth on it with parts for a modern case rake (they havn't changed the design) Case Orange is probably correct. I painted mine JD green and yellow cause thats what i had and joked that it would bring more money if it was green.

I am not sure on the colors. Look liked a good rake, had extra teeth with it. Last year I bought a JD 851 rake at that sale. . I used the Help Identify Forum to identify it. Had no tag. I stop at that sale this year. I didn't stick around. First time in two years I didn't buy anything there. Go every year. Keeps getting bigger every year. The Amish use it as a fundraisor for there school. What did the New Holland 273 baler bring?

I live east of Peru north of old 24. I got the old rake painted up and used it last year. I think your rake is in pretty good shape. You did alright.
