Can someone give me the down and dirty detail on how to set a 3bottom trail behind plow.

You need to hitch it so that the line of draft is in line with the centerline of the tractor. Line of draft of any plow is: one-fourth bottom width to the left of center of the cutting width of the plow. The plow hitch has a crossbar with multiple holes, and perhaps two braces. Adjust those components so the clevis is in line with the draft line. Move the right rear tractor wheel in or out so the inside of the tire aligns with the right edge of the front plowshare. Your plow should have two adjusting levers, for depth and level. Left lever adjusts depth. Right lever adjust the plow frame to level. When starting a land, you need to adjust the level for that first round, then reset it for the second round, and leave it there, since the right wheel will be in a furrow after that, until you start another land.

Shep- been meaning to ask about the RUP licensing in Florida. Here we started many years ago with maybe a 5 year license and $10 fee. Then 3 year license and $25, then $35. Open book test each time, lot of BS, very little on calibration, etc. Now it's about $45, available on-line as well as the old way, but on-line is a bit cheaper, but higher than before. We used to have Extension meetings and worked on the test individually or in groups. With the paper test we could go back and double check answers against the book, don't know how that works now with the on-line system- I can picture MSN cutoffs, or losing info when going back. I look on the whole thing as a lot of bureacracy- even got a letter yesterday telling me I'm supposed to let the State know if I'm not going to renew. How long has Florida had their system? I imagine within a few years we'll be pushing a hundred bucks for a private license. Commercial employees pay a stiffer fee than privates.
