I have a friend that has a McKee 1578 round baler. Serial #351. I have heard that it was made by Vicon is this correct? I know that it is a fixed chamber and bales are 5' wide and approx 6' tall. That is about all I know. He is having trouble with the hydraulic system on it. The tail gate opens up while he is baling. I thought about putting a bleed back valve kit on it, but system has a nitrogen cylinder on it and I am confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, James

James,
I don't know if this will help or not. A friend of mine had the same problem last year. We hooked his baler on my 4020 and it did fine. We then checked his hydraulic system and while checking the cooler found that you couldn't see the cooling fins for the dirt. We cleaned it and changed the hydraulic fluid and filter and it cured the problem. I am not familiar with the baler you are talking about, but it sounds like a hydraulic issue to me. Good luck.
