Hello, I have just purchased a 162 NH tedder. I paid $1,450 for it and it is in good shape. Good tires and teeth. It is tight all over. Did I do alright??? Are there any quirks about them that I need to know??? I have delt with the 163 some. Are they the same only the 162 is older or is the 162 a lighter machine??? Thanks

I bought a 162 a year ago for $1000. It's been a good tedder. It may not have been in as good of shape as yours, as the tires don't look the best on mine. I believe that these are actually made by Kuhn in France. The interesting thing is that at the auction where I bought mine (the Topeka IN spring consignment sale in 2003) there were two newer JD tedders that were basically the same machine as my NH 162 painted green that no-saled at about $1700.

I'd say you did ok and the two models are similar. Steve
