I have a JD 55 moldboard plow, the rims are in good condition and some of the original paint is left on the frame. Everything moves and is in excellent mechanical condition. A friend is wanting to buy it from me and i am wanting to know the value and any other info you have about the plow.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

P.S. I am a RED man myself so i would like to get it out of my barn ASAP. :)

Man that 55 plow takes me back. I bought a new 55H plow back in 1957, paid $315 bucks on rubber. It had plowshares that had to be sharpened and then replaced when worn too much. I was glad when they came with the 555 and 666 plows with the throwaway shares, but they didn't do as good of work.

If your plow is in good working condition, it should be worth $200 - $300. Does it have the hydraulic hose holder? That alone is worth quite a lot. A good JD cylinder that matches up with the 55 runs around $100 for a good one. Hope this helps.
