I am looking for planter plates for the following planter that I bought earlier this year. I have called my local Deere dealer and all he could help me with was cast iron plates that cost $30 a piece. I am going to use this in plot farming and I'm not looking to spend that kind of money. I know there is aftermarket suppliers like Lustran but I dont know who to call or where to look for a number or address. I asked the local farmers in my area if they had any left laying around since they have all bought newer machinery and none have been kept. I am looking for bean and sorgum plates right now. If anyone has any information or has any plates they would like to sell I would be interseted. Thanks.

Place some calls to your local junk men they are buying old planters left and right for scrap metal most just throw the plates in a pile.

Hello,
I just bought a 494A planter too. I found a place called Lincoln AG. Products (website = www.lincolnagproducts.com) They sell plastic plates for a $ten dollar bill. I don't know if that is a good deal or not, but they have quite a long listing of plates for a lot of planters. maybe it can be of help. Have a good week. Deamer

I have bought plates from Lincoln Ag Products. They have a large selection and their service was great. They shipped the day I called in the order. Their website can be a bit cantankerous (is that really a word?). If you have trouble connecting to the website, just keep trying. You'll eventually get there.
