How much is a good used Hoelscher model 1000 bale accumulator worth? Also a Farmhand "Balehand"
square bale pick up worth? Their coming up for auction this weekend.

Dave, I bought a Farmhand 8 bale grab from an implement dealer in S.D. for 750. I also bought a Farmhand accumulator & grab for 2500 from another dealer in SW Missouri. I did have to go through the thing from back to front to make it useable and it was rough. These grabs will usually require some modification to fit your loader. You also have to make sure you have an additional outlet to operate the cylinder on the grab.
A good Hoelscher accumulator used will go for 4-6000 if there are people at the sale who want one. Remember this is a 10,000+ unit when new. This is very good equipment. The grab should be sold with it but they may try to sell them separate just to increase the return. Remember this accumulator will require 18.5 gpm of hydraulic flow (you may get by with slightly less)so it should have a pto driven pump with unless the previous owner had a newer tractor with a high output system. You will also have to have a trailer hitch on your baler and an additional hitch inside the outer (reel side)baler wheel. This may be include but you'll have to install on your baler. Any other questions? Good luck..
